Volunteer’s Needed At World of Bluegrass Conference

ibma pickThe IBMA’s first conference year in Raleigh, NC has some great possibilities for success but also for a jillion little “SNAFUs” that can do anything from putting a damper on someone’s fun to really wrecking the occasion.

That’s why the IBMA relies upon hundreds of volunteers every year but this year the volunteers will play an even bigger roll in the overall success due to the newness and variety of venues that will encompass the World of Bluegrass Convention, Awards, Exhibits, Showcases and Street Fest.

Colorado Bluegrass Society Has Open Position to Fill

The Director of Volunteer Engagement will lead the Volunteer Engagement effort at CBMS, developing operational policy and handling management issues that impact the group’s volunteers.

Join Dwight Worden, presenter of IBMA’s next webinar, “How to Recruit, Retain & Keep Your Volunteers Happy,” scheduled for Tuesday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m. Central. (8:30 p.m. Eastern, 6:30 p.m. Mountain Time, 5:30 p.m. Pacific)

Worden, the fiddling attorney serving as the associations rep on the IBMA Board of Directors, is the president of the San Diego Bluegrass Society and is also active in the California Bluegrass Association (CBA). Dwight is an attorney with lots of experience with non-profits, and he led a similar session about working with volunteers for the European Bluegrass Music Association recently in Buhl, Germany.

MerleFest Is Looking For Volunteers!

...Volunteers can sign up to work a single shift or up to four days....
April's still a long way off, but it takes a lot of planning to put on a festival as big as MerleFest.

Organizers are already looking for volunteers for next year's festival, which will run from April 26 to 29 on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro.
